A pallet of beach pebbles from Beach Pebbles Direct runs $1,192.50 to $2,195.00 depending on color and finish, as of September 2026. Natural stone like Mexican Beach Pebbles sits at the low end; polished finishes like Tiger Striped sit at the high end. Here's the full price list, what drives the spread, and what delivery adds on top.
How much does a pallet of beach pebbles cost?
Every color is sold by the pallet, one pallet minimum, no online checkout — you call or request a quote and pay by invoice. Here's what's live in our system right now:
| Color | Pallet weight | Coverage at 2" deep | Price per pallet | Price per sq ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mexican Beach Pebbles | 1.5 tons | ~150 sq ft | $1,192.50 | $7.95 |
| Diamond White | 1.5 tons | ~150 sq ft | $1,275.00 | $8.50 |
| Snow White | 1.5 tons | ~150 sq ft | $1,295.00 | $8.63 |
| Mini Mixed | 1.5 tons | ~150 sq ft | $1,325.00 | $8.83 |
| Mixed | 1.5 tons | ~150 sq ft | $1,395.00 | $9.30 |
| Salt and Pepper | 1.5 tons | ~150 sq ft | $1,425.00 | $9.50 |
| Polished Black | 1.4 tons | ~140 sq ft | $1,645.00 | $11.75 |
| Super Polished Black | 1.4 tons | ~140 sq ft | $1,945.00 | $13.89 |
| Tiger Striped | 1.4 tons | ~140 sq ft | $2,195.00 | $15.68 |
Those per-square-foot numbers are for one pallet at the standard 2-inch installed depth. Go deeper than 2 inches and you'll need more pallets to cover the same footprint — go shallower and you'll get more square footage per pallet, but the stone won't hold up as well over time.
Why do prices vary so much between colors?
Two things drive the spread: how the stone is finished, and where it's sourced. Natural, tumbled stone — Mexican Beach Pebbles, Diamond White, Snow White, Mixed, Mini Mixed, Salt and Pepper — is less labor-intensive to produce and lands between $7.95 and $9.50 per square foot. Polished stone — Polished Black, Super Polished Black, Tiger Striped — goes through an extra buffing process for a high-gloss finish, which pushes it to $11.75–$15.68 per square foot. Polished pallets also run 1.4 tons instead of 1.5, so you're getting slightly less coverage per pallet on top of the higher per-pallet price.
One thing to know before you pay the premium for polish: Polished Black, Super Polished Black, and Tiger Striped can fade with prolonged full-sun exposure. If the install site gets hard afternoon sun all day, factor that into which finish you pick.
How much stone do I actually need?
Do the math before you call so your quote request is accurate. A 1.5-ton pallet covers about 150 square feet at 2 inches deep; a 1.4-ton polished pallet covers about 140 square feet at the same depth. For a 400-square-foot bed in Mexican Beach Pebbles, that's 400 ÷ 150 = 2.67, so you'd round up to 3 pallets. The same bed in Tiger Striped would need 400 ÷ 140 = 2.86, rounded up to 3 pallets as well — but at $2,195 each instead of $1,192.50, the total is more than double.
Does ordering more pallets lower the price?
Yes. Volume pricing kicks in above three pallets, so a contractor covering a half-acre property or a homeowner doing the whole yard at once pays less per pallet than someone ordering a single pallet for a flower bed. The pricing above is per-pallet at standard quantities; request a quote with your total square footage and we'll come back with the volume rate.
What does delivery add to the total?
Delivery is quoted separately from the stone itself and depends on order size and destination. Orders under four pallets ship LTL with curbside unloading. Orders of four or more pallets ship flatbed. For most of Florida, delivery is next day. The rest of the Southeast runs 2–3 days, and we also serve the Caribbean. Exact delivery cost depends on your distance from our Jacksonville (7643 Gate Parkway) or Miami yards, so it's part of the quote, not a flat add-on.
Are polished pebbles worth the extra cost?
Depends on the look you're after. Polished finishes read more modern and reflect more light, which is why they're popular for planters, pool surrounds, and contemporary walkways. But you're paying roughly 50–95% more per square foot for that gloss, and it can dull or fade with heavy sun exposure over time. Natural finishes like Mexican Beach Pebbles or Salt and Pepper cost less, hold their look longer in full sun, and work in the same applications. One place beach pebbles of any finish don't belong: in or around fire pits. They trap moisture and can crack or pop when heated.
